Choose the output job

One source set can be prepared for every place your product appears.

Add product images

Drop a product batch here. PicReady will inspect every output against the selected recipe before download.

Resize and compress a Shopify product image batch before upload

Choose a Shopify task recipe, keep the source format by default, fit or crop products safely, and inspect the finished batch before downloading an organized upload package.

2048px maximum, no upscaling

Photos wider or taller than 2048px are reduced proportionally. Smaller source images keep their original dimensions.

Format stays in your control

Product resizing keeps the original format by default. Choose WebP, JPEG, PNG, or a target size only when your catalog workflow calls for it.

Batch rename and ZIP export

Process up to 20 images together, build names from a product handle or SKU, and download a manual-upload package or CSV helper manifest.

A practical Shopify image recipe

  • Start with the Shopify Product preset for mixed portrait and landscape photos. It preserves the original ratio instead of forcing every image into a square crop.
  • For consistent square catalog images, use padding to keep the whole product, or choose Fill & crop and move the focal point before processing.
  • When page weight matters most, try the 200KB target on a sample batch and inspect fine details before applying the same setting to every product.

Shopify image resizing questions

What size should Shopify product images be?

Shopify says 2048×2048px usually displays well for square product images. PicReady uses 2048px as a maximum boundary while preserving the source ratio, so non-square photos are not stretched.

Does the Shopify preset crop product photos?

No. Product images keep their original ratio by default. Square catalog images use padding by default, while Fill & crop is an explicit option with a controllable focal point.

Can Shopify use WebP product images?

Yes. Shopify accepts WebP product images and can deliver images in a format supported by the shopper's browser. PicReady also lets you choose JPEG or PNG when needed.

Are Shopify product photos uploaded to PicReady?

No. Resizing, cropping, compression, format conversion, preview generation, and ZIP creation run locally in your browser.
